Cyril Lignac’s sidekick revealed that his house was 600m² and that she was on three levels. “It’s about‘an old building half 16th, half 18th. Originally it was a bourgeois house which was transformed into a fruit farm at the beginning of the 20th century. At the bottom of the garden, there still remains a chapel. Purchased in ruins almost fifty years ago, we restored it little by little. With its many rooms and doors in a row, there is plenty to get lost in.“
In its interior, we can find furniture “rather old and family“. “But I brought a touch of modernity with contemporary art paintings. It turns out that my collection consists almost entirely of paintings of women.“, she added. In her home, white is predominant, because “it’s easier to decorate“.
A well-equipped kitchen for Mercotte
And the room where it is undoubtedly the most is its kitchen, which is 25m² and which is located on the ground floor, “with exposed beams“. “It is not particularly modern but very functional with a large central table for eight people, and work surfaces on three sides. The entrance to the house is no longer used: people cross the lawn and arrive directly at the kitchen through a double glass door with small panes“, she confided. We can say that Mercotte is well equipped since it has KitchenAid robots, coffee machines, a bread machine and even a Shock freezer cooling cell. It also has a special macaron oven on 3 levels, a fan oven, a microwave and a large warming drawer… Without forgetting its “400 recipe books which are spread over 3 levels in depth“. “Considering the size of my house, I’m pretty well equipped and that’s why I even transformed a room into a storage room for fridges and freezers. It’s very practical!“, she continued.
In addition to its interior, Mercotte can benefit from a “ornamental garden with white flowers everywhere, including pansies and rose bushes“. “For summer, I choose a different color for the geraniums each year. I also have a huge fig tree, some aromatic herbs and gooseberry bushes but no vegetable garden“, she concluded.
