A new death on the roads of Val-d’Oise. This Thursday, October 10, 2024, a biker aged 63 is deceased following a collision on the D316 near Luzarches (Val-d’Oise).

Two motorcycles and a car involved

The tragedy occurred around 6:45 p.m. in circumstances that the gendarmerie investigation has yet to determine. According to the first findings of the firefighters on site communicated by the Val-d’Oise Fire and Rescue Operational Center (Codis), theaccident reportedly involved two motorcycles and a car which were traveling towards the Oise.

Despite the care provided by the firefighters and a medical team from Samu 95, the death of the sixty-year-old was declared on site.

Two other victims, one 45 year old biker and a 93 year old motorist, were also taken care of by emergency services. While they were still being assessed at 8 p.m., the two men were not seriously injured.

21 killed on the roads since the start of the year

This tragedy brings the number of road deaths to 21 in 2024. Two-wheeler drivers remain the most vulnerable users with nine deaths recorded, including seven motorcyclists, a cyclist and a scooter driver. Next come drivers of light vehicles with six deaths, and finally pedestrians, six having been fatally mowed down on the roads of Val-d’Oise.
