Yann Barthès: His refuge far from essential to his balance, a place known for its beauty

By Gaëtan Audeyer | Deputy Editor-in-Chief

From Hollywood stars to French personalities, no one escapes Gaëtan’s devouring curiosity to tell stories. Feeding on Star Academy and Sous le soleil, like any good self-respecting millennial, he now takes great pleasure in deciphering PAF broadcasts. His guilty pleasure? Watch old episodes of the show Strip Tease over and over again.

On the occasion of Yann Barthès’ birthday, who is celebrating his 50th birthday, PurePeople took an interest in the journalist’s Savoyard refuge. A place that man keeps as secret as possible…

Yann Barthès: His refuge far from essential to his balance, a place known for its beauty

The rest after the ad

On September 2, after several weeks of well-deserved vacation, Yann Barthès returned to the studios! The former presenter of Little diary which celebrates its anniversary this October 9, launched its ninth season of Daily on TMC. A somewhat special year since the latter announced during an exclusive interview in The Sunday Tribune that he was going to stop receiving political figures. “This season, we are going to stop receiving politicians, with the exception of a major figure who returns to public debate or a book release”he blurted out.

While the star host of TMC had been singled out by Internet users for having invited François Hollande a few days after his statements, the latter has, it seems, taken note of the criticism. Since then, politicians have been very rare on the Plateau de la Dix. A new formula which in no way alters the success of the show which has achieved very good audience scores since the start of the school year. And when he’s not on set Daily, Yann Barthès likes to retreat to his refuge far from Paris

Yann Barthès, his essential retreats in his native Savoie

Very discreet about his private life, the man who recently found himself at the heart of a controversy over the working conditions of his editorial employees has already addressed a subject dear to his heart: his native Savoy. In fact, the latter had confided in Parisian : “On weekends, I try to have a normal life. As soon as I have more than 24 hours, I go to the mountains where I come from. And I see my friends who aren’t in TV. Neither my family nor my friends chose to be exposed. I try to protect them as much as possible.” Born in the city of Chambéryin Savoie, Yann Barthès likes to be far from the tumults of Paris in this invigorating countryside. A necessary withdrawal for someone who regularly faces criticism from the press and social networks.
