In financial difficulty, the store had to leave the premises on January 12. But the big sale organized to sell off the stocks caused too many crowds, forcing the brand to lower the curtain earlier on the most beautiful avenue in the world.

Panic movement at the Fnac on the Champs-Élysées last Friday. An hour after opening its doors, the store was forced to close due to the influx of hundreds of people. They had come in droves to take advantage of a large clearance sale launched to sell off stocks until the final closure, initially scheduled for January 12. The endless queue overflowing onto the sidewalk threatened safety and order on public roads.

At this stage, management cannot communicate on how it intends to dispose of unsold inventory. But, one thing is certain, after twenty-seven years of presence on the famous avenue, management has decided not to reopen the store after Friday's episode and to leave the premises permanently a little earlier than planned.
