OUR ADVICE – The countdown to the holidays is on. Partners of Christmas and New Year, champagnes are once again the stars of the table this year. Here are 38 vintages selected by Le Figaro Vin, all under the 50 euro mark.

Always more desirable, always more festive, champagne never tires of playing the stars on our festive end-of-year tables. Formerly an aperitif companion, the king of wines now extends beyond the preliminaries with more vinous offerings allowing it to play the title role throughout the meal. If champagne has gained in complexity – some say it has never been so good! – it nevertheless sometimes suffers from its lack of accessibility. Prices, it’s true, have skyrocketed in recent years. Production costs have soared, while champagne still remains one of the most difficult wines to produce.

Never mind, Le Figaro Vin, after tasting nearly 200 vintages, has identified 38 champagnes which remain accessible, without compromising quality. Large houses and winegrowers, all sensibilities are represented. Enough to perpetuate the tradition of dressing your tables with the most beautiful bubbles.
