From one month to the next, in May 2024, outstanding bank loans fell very slightly. Outstanding household loans increased by MAD 9.5 billion from one year to the next. Overdue debts increased by 3.7 billion dirhams over the same period.
The latest publication of monetary statistics from Bank Al-Maghrib shows a very slight drop in bank credits in May 2024 compared to the previous month. In details :
The overall outstanding amount of bank loans stands at MAD 1,096.9 billion, down 0.1%. or 612 MDH compared to April 2024. If we compare with the same period in 2023, bank credit shows an increase of 4.6% or 48 billion MAD.
Outstanding real estate loans increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month at 304.8 billion dirhams. Compared to the same period the previous year, outstanding mortgage loans increased by 1.3%.
Accounts debtors and cash credits show a month-on-month decrease of 0.5%, or 1.2 billion dirhams from one month to the next. The outstanding amount reached 250 billion dirhams.
The outstanding amount of equipment credits in May increased by 4.5 billion dirhams in value from one month to the next to 204.7 billion dirhams. Over a rolling year, the outstanding amount increases by MAD 22.8 billion in value.
Par institutional sectorwe observe in May a progression of 1.4% of the outstanding credits to households to 395 billion dirhams. Over a sliding year, the outstanding amount increases by 9.5 billion dirhams.
THE outstanding debts are stable compared to the previous month. In May, they reached 96.6 billion dirhams. Over a sliding year, bad debts increased by 3.7 billion dirhams.
