French people who have not received their energy check will be able to request it on the online complaints platform which will be open from this Thursday, July 4. Here are the documents that will be requested to support your claim.
Between 48 and 277 euros. The nearly one million people eligible for the 2024 energy check who did not receive it last April will be able to claim it from this Thursday by going to the platform provided for this purpose. Several households were deprived of this due to the abolition of the housing tax, which made the identification of the households concerned more difficult.
To remedy this hiccup, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, announced the establishment of a complaints desk intended for forgotten households. The platform will be accessible from July 4.
Several documents in the name of the applicant
Before starting any application, each household must check its eligibility for the energy check. The latter depends mainly on the income and composition of the household. There are several online simulators, but the one from energy check set up by the government is probably the most reliable.
Once eligibility is confirmed, the households concerned can make their request from this Thursday until next December, on the online claims platform.
Each household must provide several documents. In detail, it is necessary to provide proof of a tax number, a valid identity document, as well as an energy bill in the name of the person requesting the energy check.
One month delay to receive your check
Once the application is sent, it is submitted to the department responsible for approving or rejecting it. The energy check is sent within one month of the file being validated.
In other words, the earlier the request is made, the more likely the applicant is to receive it quickly. The France Services network can be contacted in the event of difficulty in the process.
As a reminder, the energy check can be used for one year, i.e. until March 31, 2025 for the 2024 check, to pay electricity, gas, wood or fuel oil heating bills.
