Zurich (awp) – The Federation of Migros Cooperatives (FCM) is selling Misenso, its subsidiary specializing in glasses and hearing aids, to the Austrian group Neuroth, the orange giant said in a press release on Tuesday. Misenso will, however, remain an independent brand.

As the new owner, the Neuroth group will continue the operation of Misenso on the existing sites and under the same name. The employees and management of Misenso are taken over. For customers, nothing will change either, the press release specifies.

Migros did not wish to communicate the amount of the transaction. “With activity in the highly specialized medical fields of optics and hearing aids, the new owner, Neuroth, offers Misenso better development opportunities. Misenso can benefit from the proven entrepreneurial and professional expertise of the Neuroth group. In addition, Neuroth will continue the expansion of Misenso as planned,” simply specifies the spokesperson for the orange giant.

Migros founded its subsidiary Misenso in 2020. The latter today operates 25 specialist stores throughout Switzerland and employs just over 200 employees.

As for the Neuroth group, it operates around 85 hearing centers in Switzerland. Founded over 115 years ago, the company is headquartered in Graz, Austria.
