Automobile certification: Insurance professionals are banking on digitalization to better revolutionize the sector

The automobile certificate will switch from paper format to digital. This is the revolution that insurance professionals in Senegal intend to lead, who organized a hiking trip on Sunday in collaboration with the Senegalese hiking federation in order to raise awareness about this innovation that the certificate will experience.

Started on March 28, with the rubric phase, the digitalization process launched on the automobile certificate will be made effective, according to the general manager of Axa Senegal, also chairman of the IT committee in charge of the digitalization project: “We are in the rubric phase that we started on March 28. And this rubric phase allows us to have at the same time a cohabitation of QR codes and bank certificates. But, from August 1, we will be in full digital. That is to say, there will be no more bank certificates,” declared Sunday Amar Kébé, chairman of the committee in charge of the digitalization project at the federation of automobile insurers of Senegal.

With this innovation that the automobile certificate will experience, assures the CEO of Axa Senegal, “People will receive QR codes and it will be easier, it will be more flexible and it will allow us to achieve several objectives, the three main ones of which are first to be able to better take care of victims. The second objective is to fight against fraud. These are frauds that upset everyone. And the third objective is to facilitate data collection. With digitalization, we really intend to enter this new era that will allow us to better revolutionize the insurance market.”

Asked about the complaints of victims who denounce the slowness noted in payments, he maintains that “That is what we hear very often but, it must be recognized that there are enormous efforts that have been made, particularly in level of legislation. For example today, there can no longer be a bodily accident without the victim being automatically taken care of. » On the other hand, “In the context of material accidents, indeed, I recognize with you that there are efforts that must be made. We ourselves, at the level of the Federation, are self-regulating to ask all our fellow insurers to play the game and that is how we will gradually reach the necessary stages so that our customers, our policyholders, are well taken care of,” assured.
