A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday evening around 6:45 p.m. on level 3 of avenue Pictet-de-Rochemont.

The Geneva cantonal police confirm a collision between two motorcycles, traveling in the direction of , and a small van, traveling in the opposite direction. Both motorcycles caught fire. The accident left four people injured, including one in serious condition, while another is in serious danger. The AGPsy cell went to the site to support the occupants of the van (with Spanish plates) who were unharmed but shocked.

On site, neighborhood residents and passers-by stop behind the security cordons set up by the police and ask questions. A red tent was set up at the scene of the accident. “It’s a survival tent. When there are a lot of injured people, they put this on. There must have been a big accident,” a father explains to his son.

In front of the tent, we see the van involved in the accident. The front of the vehicle bears the mark of the impact. In the surrounding area, vehicle debris litters the ground. Among these, a biker helmet. “It must have hit really hard,” said a passerby.

“I saw everything. It happened so quickly. Both motorcycles were trying to avoid each other for some reason I don’t know. Both men stole. They were ejected. There was smoke and flames. I was shocked. I couldn’t react and call for help. Fortunately, the firefighters arrived very quickly. They started trying to resuscitate a biker who was on the ground and not moving,” testifies a 23-year-old passerby who is still upset at having witnessed this scene.

The road has been closed to traffic and the police advise avoiding the entire area between rue François-Versonnex, avenue Pictet-de-Rochemont and place des Eaux-Vives.
