The city of Mulhouse continues its involvement in favor of the Tour de l’Europe, symbol of the Haut-Rhin city. It is the tallest tower in Alsace, over 100 meters highAmong the announcements of this Wednesday, September 25: the reopening date of the panoramic restaurant closed for several years.
Call launched for candidates to take over the panoramic restaurant
The town hall has launched a call for projects for a “lifestyle” establishment (restaurant, tea room, lounge bar). It should reopen its doors by the end of 2025. For the work started in 2022, 70 tons of concrete had to be removed to reduce the overload of the floor on the ground. Rubble that had to be brought down by elevators.
The cost of the operation is 300,000 euros for the town hall. The good news is that theThe panoramic floor will be able to rotate and it was highly anticipated by Mulhouse customers.
The city will acquire 7 apartments in the Europe Tower
Among the other announcements, the deliberation of which will be examined this Thursday, September 26, during the municipal council: the acquisition of 7 apartments per cityto secure the co-ownership, by guaranteeing the payment of charges and renting them out. Currently the Tour de l’Europe is 270 apartments, 25% of which belong to companies and 75% belong to individuals. An expensive tower with its elevators to repair, charges that have increased with the rise in the cost of energy. In the third half of 2024, the unpaid rate amounted to 1.7 million euros.
Since 2022, the city has requested the judicial court to place the co-ownership under provisional judicial administration.
This tower of Europe was built in 1973. It is designed by the Mulhouse architect François Spoerry. It is listed as 20th century heritage.
