the essential
Yesterday, the youth festival “Partir en livre” took place at Chplomb Park. Games and sports were there for young and old.

Under the trees sheltered from the sun, laughter is heard. The registration lists are full, the children are impatiently waiting for their turn. This Wednesday, June 26, the media library opens its doors to host the children’s youth festival on the theme of sport and games.

It is in the Chplomb Park under the sun and the song of birds that various activities are available for the most curious. Stands filled with colorful books catch the eye of little readers. The bookstore Aux temps Modernes and Le Bleu du Ciel are exhibiting their selection for the day. Books for children under 14 with a sports and games theme. “I really like everything that is offered for children. In a world where there are too many screens, it’s a great idea. I think it’s also good for people who don’t have too much the means. The activities are accessible to everyone and the children have fun,” says a participant happily.

Next door, under a tent, silence reigns. A pencil in their hands, the children apply themselves to drawing. They are guided by the facilitator’s advice. Face shape, nose, eyes, all apply to create a character. The manga workshop is a great success with young people.

Once upon a time

Under the croaking of frogs, Julie Leglise, leads the storytelling show workshop. She tells two stories from her edition gamineries. Books immersed in the world of dinosaurs. Julie Leglise brings her stories to life using story rugs, stuffed animals and instruments. The children are amused and laugh.

A little further away is the digital space. The two tables installed are filled with coloring pages. This is the Blink Book workshop. It involves bringing your coloring to life. Very concentrated, the children work hard to color the most beautiful dinosaur. Everyone passes the tablet around to see their drawing come to life.

At the end of one of the tables is the virtual reality headset. Sitting on a chair with a mask over their eyes, curious little ones can learn about the virtual world. They will be able to fly over the city of Paris, populated by animals. For the more playful, the media library is launching the LUX IN TENEBRIS challenge. A digital exhibition, to solve a police investigation in the Middle Ages also accessible from July 9 to 11.

The “Partir en livre” festival can be found in Mazères on June 28, June 29 in Saverdun, July 3 in Pujols and July 3 and 6 in Saint-Jean-du-Falga.
