In July 2021, Laurent Weil was forced to leave our small screens, due to a “serious health problem“, On February 15, 2023, during a cinema press conference organized by the Canal + group, the host Laurie Cholewa, who regularly gave news of her colleague during this long absence, and the general director of Canal+ France Gérard-Brice Viret, announced the imminent return of the famous journalist.
Since then, we have seen him again on the encrypted channel, as well as on Cabourg Romantic Film Festival, in July 2023, where the journalist appeared furtively in a video published on the Canal+ X account, finally leaving François Civil and Lyna Khoudri to chat alone in front of the camera on a terrace. But his appearances are still quite rare. We were therefore pleasantly surprised to see him attend, on May 30 and in great shape, the Inauguration of Anne Mondy’s Avant Scène, in the company of his personal assistant.

The 51-year-old artist, daughter of the comedian and director Pierre Mondy, who died in September 2012, took care of the condesign and decoration of the VIP Lounge area of the performance hall of the Palais des Congrès, in Paris. She then offered this visual show to her guests, including Laurent Weil. But also Chantal Ladesou, Nicoletta, Eléonore Boccara, Aurélie Konaté or even Juliette Tresanini. Everyone was present, under the eyes of Fabrice Sarlange (director of the Palais des Congrès in Paris), to attend this event. The atmosphere was very joyful!
