(Keystone-ATS) An 18-year-old young man “was killed by (Israeli) occupation bullets in the Balata camp,” the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said in a statement. It also reports nine injured, “including four in serious condition”.
Contacted by AFP, the Israeli army responded that it was investigating the reported facts.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli troops entered the camp from the Awarta checkpoint and “deployed snipers on the roofs of surrounding buildings.”
Violence linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has exploded in the West Bank since the start of the war triggered by the attack of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023.
