In just over two minutes, Prime Minister Luc Frieden extended the government’s best wishes to everyone, emphasizing that they move forward together “with respect”. June 23, 2025 will be an opportunity to thank the Grand Ducal couple for their “25 years of service to the country”.
“On behalf of the government and on my own behalf, I wish you all a happy new year, good health, as well as peace and freedom here in Luxembourg and around the world.“.
Luc Frieden began by expressing his satisfaction at seeing the end of a year 2024 during which Luxembourg “remained a nation in peace and united“. While “directly around us there is a lot of tumult“, he said, speaking of Ukraine and the Middle East, “where there are horrible wars“, and because”none of our three neighboring countries have a stable government“.
He expresses his gratitude that in Europe we “may we be a place of stability and peace” et “it is your merit to all“, that is to say of”a society where we discuss together, with respect“, underlines Luc Frieden.
His government was able to “lay the first accents” and 2024 verse “less poverty, more purchasing power, more housing construction, more security and a stronger and fairer economic and social policye”.
