“We take these threats very seriously”: American bases on alert against unidentified drones

DUnidentified drones were observed flying over three military bases used by the US Air Force in Britain, authorities in both countries confirmed, CNN reported this Sunday.

These objects were seen between Wednesday and Saturday, flying over Royal Air Force bases at Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell, all of which host US Air Force (USAF) units. “The number of unmanned aircraft systems observed fluctuated, and their sizes and configurations varied,” a spokesperson for the US Air Force in Europe said in a statement.

The latter also assured that these incursions had no impact on base residents or critical infrastructure.

For its part, a spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defense said: “We take these threats very seriously and apply rigorous security measures at our defense sites, including anti-drone systems. » American and British authorities indicated that they would not make further comments at this time.
