He lost his life there in a head-on collision.“The fire services were called this morning around 6 a.m. for a serious traffic accident at Zac Panda, in the direction Païta-Nouméa”, explains Bruno Chitussi, head of the fire department. “We are then dealing with a head-on collision between two vehicles. That is to say that a vehicle has taken the expressway in the wrong direction. This caused a frontal impact, which caused the victims to be extricated. The victim is deceased.”

In the difficult context that New Caledonia is going through, firefighters are alerting the population. “Our interventions have been complicated for six weeks because like all the other security forces we are working in degraded mode. But please ladies and gentlemen, do not take the expressway in the wrong direction. Do not knowingly put yourself in danger. Be vigilant in all actions of daily life.”
