A season 2 for Erica (TF1)? Grégory Fitoussi gives an element of the answer: “I believe that the screenwriters…”

Launched on January 6, season 1 of the series Ericaadapted from the novels by Camilla Läckberg, ends this Monday evening on TF1. After The Ice Princess et The Preacherthe last two episodes bring to the screen the third novel by the Swedish author: The Stonecutter.

“I think the writers are already looking at the next six episodes”

To date, there are eleven novels featuring Erica and Patrick, the characters played by Julie de Bona and Grégory Fitoussi. A material that leaves room for other seasons. “With my acting experience, I learned to take things one day at a time.” confided Gérgory Fitoussi to Télé 7 jours, about a possible season 2. And continued: “It all depends on so many parameters! I think the writers are already looking at the next six episodes, but obviously it’s the audience who will decide if they want to see a sequel or not. In any case, it would be a lot of fun for me to continue in the role of Patrick. The principle of a first season is to establish the intrigues and the characters. At the end, I hope that we will want to know more about them and see them in even more incredible situations.”

We don’t know at all if we will be able to continue.” explained Julie de Bona. “As usual, I don’t ask myself any questions. That is to say, I follow instinct. I never made a career plan. If I read a script that I like, with a character that thrills me, or that I know I’m going to experience a great adventure, I go for it! For the rest, time will tell us. There, it could be a long-term series, or not. Since there is no certainty, why stop yourself from playing such a pretty role?”

What audiences for Erica on TF1?

On the audience side, Erica placed TF1 in the lead during its first two evenings. After attracting 3.83 million viewers on average, or 22.2% of the public, during its launch, the series repeated the following week, totaling 3.89 million viewers. A figure which allowed the first channel to beat M6, which nevertheless offered portraits of the next season of Love is in the meadow. Scores which suggest that a second season ofErica has a good chance of seeing the light of day.
