from Koh-Lanta to The Island, Lucie Bertaud goes on an adventure

From one adventure to another… Originally from Thouars, Lucie Bertaud burst into millions of homes in spring 2021 by participating in Koh-Lanta, one of the most watched programs in and Navarre. A media exposure all the more powerful as it did not make up the numbers by reaching the famous poles test, before failing in the final.

“It was much harder than a fight!” »

Enough to turn your head or sow spleen? “I didn’t have any blues. It was a great, magical adventure that I will never regret. It remains a good memory today, but it wasn’t easy at the time”confides Lucie Bertaud. A former boxer and MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter at the highest level, she is nevertheless used to taking hits. However, she did not imagine such violence on social networks…

“I didn’t expect all this excitement, it was hard to manage, much more difficult than a fight”she smiles after celebrating her 39th birthday and while a severe knee injury forced her to hang up her gloves.

A “superhuman effort”

“On site, the Koh-Lanta adventure was difficult, but more on a psychological level than a physical one. Due to strategies and eliminations, you must wear a mask at all times. I couldn’t be fully myself, it was a superhuman effort. »

On TF1, in 2021, Lucie Bertaud reached the final. From Tuesday January 7, 2025, on M6, the camp is over: you will have to make your way through the jungle for ten days with other celebrities…

The jungle on the menu

“The proposal came at the right time, explains the one who has kept strong family ties in and Thouarsais. Filming took place during the Olympics, so many athletes were already busy. But be careful, apart from the heavenly setting, The Island and its “celebrities” (Sidney Govou, Patrick Puydebat, Nathalie Marquay…) have nothing to do with it. “This time it’s really survival, without any water or food, concludes Lucie Bertaud. We have to make our way through the jungle together. It was very trying but when you’re not afraid of being eliminated, that changes everything! The only ones who stop are those who can no longer move forward…” Quite a program!
