On television every weekday evening for many years, Yann Barthès has known dozens of columnists. One of them is releasing a book at the start of the year and talks about his difficulties watching his shows after his sudden departure.

Every evening, from 2013, the native of Talence, in Gironde, aims to take on the “Musqua challenge”, a segment in which the comedian, now 37 years old, puts himself on stage in more or less funny situations. An experience that only lasted a year for Maxime Musqua, who announced, shortly after the start of the 2014 school year, his departure from the show, making it clear that he had not been pushed towards the exit by the production company Bangumi . Unfortunately for him, this departure will plunge him into a deep depression and at the time, he feels at his worst. “In the evening, I still need to listen to people talking, so I put talk shows on my big TV. It will take me a while before I can watch Yann Barthès without it hurting me”he confides in his book I won’t need alcohol to dance anymore (ed. Robert Laffont, 2025).
The bad experience of Maxime Musqua
A decision that he seems to regret, but his year at Le Petit Journal was not only synonymous with good times, as he explains in his book. After a big incident in the show, Yann Barthès had to apologize to Maxime Musqua, when the latter took on the challenge of walking from Lyon to Paris “in homage to the march against racism, which took place thirty years earlier and echo the film with Jamel Debbouze coming out soon”. After asking the 50-year-old host for a bodyguard in vain, the comedian is the victim of a joke that is anything but funny. “I have cream all over my face, guys are running off and starting to chase each other. I just got scalded. (…) An hour later, production provides me with a bodyguard and Yann sends me a text with a sincere apology”remembers the chronicler of Little Journal.
