At the rental chalet, as soon as the doors opened at the beginning of the afternoon, Roch Gobels, the boss of Ski Action, was bombarded with requests. Volunteers lent him a hand. “We didn’t expect to be called todayexplains Cécile, a volunteer. The team was urgently expanded in the rental area, in the cafeteria and in the ski lifts. It will be further strengthened in the coming days if the snow continues.”
The snow that fell in large quantities during the school break was welcomed with enthusiasm by the children of the region and the holidaymakers present in large numbers in the lodges and at Center Parcs les Ardennes. “The cross-country ski trails are not yet passable because the snow cover is not good everywherecontinues Cécile. This Thursday we rented around 200 pairs of alpine skis and numerous sleds. The skiers came from the region, from Flanders and even from Brussels.”
If the weather forecasts are confirmed, the alpine ski slopes will still be accessible on Friday and Saturday. More information: 080/41 88 78
