What really happened to Charmaine at the end of season 6? Our theories and what the books say!

Season 6 of Virgin Riveravailable on Netflix, ended on a huge cliffhanger. Jack (Martin Henderson) goes to Charmaine's house and looks shocked when he opens the door to the children's bedroom. What happened? Here are two theories and what the books say about Charmaine's future.

In order to have an excellent end-of-year holiday season, Netflix has spoiled its subscribers by unveiling season 6 of Virgin River. A new salvo which also proved naughtier than the previous ones and which also denied one of the biggest fan theories. But if viewers were delighted to see Jack and Mel get married and live their love fully, the finale of these new episodes left them in uncertainty. Since Charmaine didn't do Mel's hair for her big day and didn't make it to the wedding, Jack decided to stop by to check on her to make sure everything was okay. When he arrives at Charmaine's house, he discovers the house ransacked. He hears the sound of a lullaby coming from upstairs and enters the children's room with a look of horror. Before he can see what he saw, the screen goes black. What happened? Is Charmaine alive? If fans haven't always liked Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), they are nevertheless worried about her. While waiting to discover the end of this story in season 7 of Virgin Riverhere are the two most obvious theories, as well as what the books say about the young woman's future.

Virgin River season 6: is Charmaine still alive in the books?

The Netflix series Virgin River Being based on a book series of the same name, by Robyn Carr, it's easy to turn to them for answers. Unfortunately, they won't be able to give us any leads this time. Indeed, if Charmaine is still alive in the novels, fiction has moved far enough away from them to tell the story of the young woman. As was the case for other important intrigues of season 6 of Virgin River. In the books, Charmaine's story is very different from that of the series because she does not become pregnant. So she doesn't have twins and isn't fighting for custody of her children with Calvin. Its future is therefore uncertain!

Theory number 1 on the season 6 finale of Virgin River : Charmaine is dead!

With Charmaine's pregnancy, the biggest twist – aside from it feeling like it was the longest pregnancy in history – was learning that Calvin is the twins' biological father. A script choice which also pushed the showrunner to defend this turnaround. But while Charmaine won custody of her children against Calvin, who also changed actors in season 6, the latter has difficulty keeping his cool. He even threatens Jack. Brie and Jack advise Charmaine to obtain a restraining order. It would therefore not be surprising if he attacked Charmaine in the finale of the sixth salvo. The most obvious theory, and that the series wants us to believe, is that Jack finds his ex dead on the floor of the children's bedroom. This would really be a shock for fans and would bring a more dramatic and dark side to the series. Fiction has never killed an important character that fans love (yes even Charmaine) in cold blood. There was Lilly but it was because of an illness. Virgin River is still a cheesy series, it's hard to imagine that it could take this terrible direction.

Theory number 2 on the season 6 finale of Virgin River : Charmaine and/or the children were kidnapped?

One of the likely scenarios – and one that we would like – is that Charmaine is alive but kept in a secret location by Calvin. Wishing to regain custody of the twins, he could hold her hostage. Jack would therefore have entered an empty room where everything would be in disarray. The other highly probable option is that Jack finds Charmaine knocked out and unconscious while Calvin leaves illegally with his children. Last option: Jack could only find the children without their mother. If there was a kidnapping, season 7 of Virgin River could spread this plot over several episodes to keep Netflix subscribers in suspense.
