“That was the trigger,” Jérémy (Married at First Sight) looks back on what changed everything with Marie

Viewers finally know everything about the adventure Married at first sight. On June 24, 2024, M6 broadcast the last episode, entitled “What have become of them?”. Several months after their marriage and their assessment, the candidates agreed to give their news to find out what situation they found themselves in. For Marie and Jérémy, the separation was complicated, since the young man suddenly decided to divorce the barmaid. On June 24, viewers were able to discover his excuses and the decision they made, namely to take different paths.

A mockery of Mary did not pass

But what could have happened to Jeremy wants to stop his romance with Marie? The day before the assessment, during a Halloween party organized at his home in Bordeaux, an argument broke out when he confessed to his wife that things were not going well and did not suit him. However, the trigger was several days earlier, when he kindly offered her a job as a secretary at his side, in order to manage his marble business. In an interview given to our colleagues at TV Magazine, he explains : “It’s not the fact that she refuses my proposal because she does what she wants. She would have said ‘thanks, but no thanks’, we would have moved on. But making fun of a profession like secretarial work was contempt for social caste.”

Jérémy: “Are we not good enough for her?”

He then adds: “From my background, there is no shame in being a secretary. I wondered what she really thought of my family members and me as a worker. Are we not good enough for her? She apologized and acknowledged that it was awkward, but in the back of my mind, it planted a small seed of doubt…” This remark of Marie had a snowball effectwhich led to the breakup. “That was the trigger for me to realize that I had nothing to do with her. We didn’t have the same desires or the same ambitions,” he concludes.
