The idea of playing and being seen from airplanes also excites Benjamin Diamond. “It seems a little surreal to me, but that’s also why the event is taking place in Roissy (another name for CDG), we feel very small”he comments for AFP.

“To mark the 50th anniversary of this airport, the first gateway to France, the French Touch makes sense to enhance the 200,000 passengers welcomed per day”explains to AFP Bertrand Sirven, communications director of the ADP group (Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airports). “Passengers on planes on the runways will be able to see this concert, everything has been done so that the lighting system during the show does not disrupt air traffic”continues the manager.

Terminal 1, designed by French architect Paul Andreu, stands out with its singular giant silhouette, somewhere between a flying saucer and a Camembert cheese. Music fans know it well, since its escalator-tubes appear on the album cover I Robot from the band The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1997.

Air, an emblematic French Touch duo, launched a landmark tour this year by playing their first album in order for the first time. Moon safari – carried by the tube Sexy boy – which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023.
