INTERVIEW – This Thursday, June 27, the great adventurers of France 5 were the guests of “Buzz TV”. The opportunity for them to discuss the new format and the next issue of their show. And their search for authenticity.

For the penultimate “Buzz TV” before the summer, Damien Canivez and Mathilde Seifert received the creators of “Nus et culottés” on France 5. Nans and Mouts, the two presenters who begin each of their shows in the simplest setting, mentioned the launch of their twelfth season on Five. This Monday, July 1 at 9:05 p.m., viewers will find the two adventurers who are looking to meet… the big bad wolf.

“It turns out that one of the first people we met was a woman dressed in red who was coming back from her grandmother’s house, where she had learned to knit.” relates Nans when he remembers the beginning of their search for the fictional character. And Mouts adds: “It’s crazy, sometimes we say to ourselves “no, but there’s a tower operator who organizes that, it’s crazy”.”

There is no shortage of coincidences. “We often find ourselves in situations like this,” assures Mouts, whose real name is Guillaume Tisserand-Mouton. “We also came across people who came from improvisation training, with red costumes from The Money Heist. They give us this to dress us in and we end up as Little Red Riding Hoods!”

The two men returned to their quest “authenticity” in this show, during which they meet strangers hoping that they will support them on their journey. “We are in a world of modernity, comfort, pleasure and we are constantly sold that,” observe Nans. “What they don’t tell us is that we’re going to lose things this way. What we lose a lot is the human connection!”

« We went upstairs, collecting the doormats, and made a little bed with them. »

He goes on to highlight the fact that they never accept financial aid. “When we live this experience, the relationship with the other is no longer an option: it becomes necessary. assures Nans. “We have lost this necessity, becoming hyperautonomous and hyperindependent. But when we suggest that someone try this again, we notice that they say to themselves “ah but yes, I missed it”.» The native of Grenoble assures that these moments are very emotional: “Very often there are tears, there are moments of truth and authenticity that are incredible and magnificent.”

Longer broadcasts

Mouts returns to a decision made one evening during a show in Cannes. Since everyone they met recognized them, they chose to sleep outside… “It’s a problem of the rich, of the guy who is too well known,” quips Nans at his side. “We pretended to be part of a building, then we went upstairs, collecting doormats, and made a little bed with them”, he says, ensuring that they replaced them. To his left, his companion in misadventure is still laughing about it.

The two men also introduced a new format for their show, expanding from 52 to 90 minutes. “We deliberately produce less, on the other hand we take longer trips, to make films that last longer,” explains Mouts. “It allows us to meet more people, to take the time. Where before, after a day or two, we had to move forward. (…) It allows you to experience this intimacy that doesn’t unfold after two hours.”
