Steeve Estatof is known for having won season 2 of “Nouvelle Star” on M6 in 2004. At the time, aged 31, he stood out for his rock side and his cover of “Le Sud” by Nino Ferrer . If his first single “Garde-moi” in 2004 was a phenomenal success, he then experienced a terrible descent into hell.

Faced with Jordan de Luxe on June 14, he admitted to having “freaked out” after his victory. “It was too much, too many people, too many different voices. People came to you to repeat rumors like: “You’re a rocker, a degenerate” or “You’re a fake rocker, it was TV that made you.” Whereas I’ve been doing this since I was little.”

He also spoke of the harmful effects of notoriety on those close to him: “They insulted my family, my parents, very mean people. I had such notoriety at that time that a lot of people came to attack me. Once a six-foot-tall man came up to me with a big kitchen knife, knelt down in front of me and said, “Steeve, kill me!”

The 51-year-old artist also recalled a fight in a bar: “Two people came and started insulting me. I’m not violent, but they insulted my parents by saying horrible things. I told them to stop because it was going to spiral out of control. They continued, they were two against me, so I got into a fight.” Finally, Steeve Estatof “took up sport” and found refuge in “the countryside”: “I felt like I was such a phenomenon that I thought I was a Beatles.”
