The new season of the Star Academy started with a bang this Saturday, October 12, 2024, and among the 15 candidates of this edition, a young candidate attracted attention: Ebony, the daughter of the well-known singer, Thierry Cham.
Ebony, aged 19 – she will also celebrate her 20th birthday in the Castle on October 15 – stands out for her natural charisma and her passion for music.
In her portrait broadcast during the first prime, this October 12, on TF1, she confided that music was part of her life thanks to her father: “Music came into my life because my father is a singer. He passed this passion on to me since I was very little“.
If it was revealed to the French public with the hit “Ocean“, at the beginning of the 2000s, the songs of Thierry Cham have accompanied zouk lovers for more than 30 years. We owe the titles to him”sleepless night” or “Thunderbolt” notably.
A passion passed on to his daughter… which has not escaped Internet users.
Very early on, Ebony learned to play the guitar and piano, and took music theory lessons, before drawing inspiration from contemporary artists like Rihanna, whose song Diamonds had a particular impact on her.
Before joining the Star Academy, Ebony was studying musicology and was preparing to join a jazz school, but luck smiled on her when she was contacted via Instagram to participate in the show. Although she tried her luck without success during two previous seasons, this year seems to mark a turning point for the young artist, who did not hesitate to put her studies on pause to experience this new adventure.
From the moment she entered the show, Ebony captivated the audience with her energy and stage presence, sparking many positive reactions on social media.
