League of Nations: Austria humiliates Erling Haaland’s Norway, Greece remains ahead of England

Total suspense in the ranking

In group 3, theAustria carried out a real demonstration against the Norway (5-1), still disappointing despite the many qualities at its disposal. Erling Haaland, expected at the turn, didn’t show much except for a shot on the post at the start of the match.

The real star of the evening was Marko Arnautovicauthor of his team’s first two goals (1-0, 8th; 2-1, 49th). If Alexander Sørloth had for a time maintained the hope of a balanced match (1-1, 39th), the Norwegian defense completely collapsed in the second half, conceding three goals from Philipp Lienhart (3-1, 58e), Stefan Posch (4-1, 62e) and Michael Gregoritsch (71e).

Earlier today in Group B, the Slovenia achieved a short success at Kazakhstan (0-1) thanks to Jan Maklar (55th). In the group standings, the Austrians, Slovenes and Norwegians are in a tight spot for first place with 7 points on the clock.

England under pressure

In group 2, theEngland relaunched at the beginning of the evening with quiet success in Finland (1-3) thanks to goals from Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold et Declan Rice.

Unfortunately for the Three Lionsit’s always there Greece who occupies the head of the group. The Pirate Ship, who defeated the English three days ago, scored a fourth consecutive victory against theIreland (1-0). A goal ofAnastasios Bakasétas at the start of the second was enough to secure the victory (48th).

In the rankings, it is therefore still the Greeks who occupy first place before the decisive match against England in Athens, on November 14.
