Exclusively for Télé Star, Pascal returned to his strained relationship with Muriel, his suitor. He made serious revelations about his behavior off-camera.
It was in the last season of L’amour est dans le pré that viewers discovered the farmer Pascal, and his suitor Muriel. The breeder, originally from Deux-Sèvres, had received only two letters, and had thus chosen only one person to accompany him to the farm.
The one he had a crush on, Muriel, charmed him with her humor and her love for work. However, the fairy tale ended when the suitor joined the farmer at his home. Between reproaches, disrespectful behavior and constant complaints, Muriel failed to win over the heart, and their relationship was very tense on the farm.
Pascal did not hesitate to reframe Muriel
Muriel’s behavior began with criticism of everything, as Pascal explained in the columns of our next issue: “The first day was difficult. I had cleaned the house, put flowers in the vases, perfume in her room and she didn’t like anything. When she started to criticize I said to myself ‘That’s not going to do it!’. I didn’t even think I would last two days“he said.
He later explained the reasons for his behavior: “She must have wanted to show that she had character. But I think it was more the cameras that confused her. She didn’t realize what she was doing and yet, I warned her right away: if you continue like this, you will be hated by the public“.
His suitor ended up apologizing to him
Pascal was very disappointed with the new Muriel he discovered: “I didn’t recognize the woman I had met in Paris. I slowed down when she wanted to decide how I would work on the farm. I don’t mind her changing the decoration of the house, but on the farm I’m in charge!“.
The farmer then revealed the details of their heated conversation that they must have had, given Muriel’s behavior:
“Our conversation was intense, even off camera. I’m a patient guy, I avoided reacting as soon as he arrived. But she stood her ground: I had to deal with it. […] When her friends told her that they no longer recognized her, she understood that she had gone too far. She apologized to me and to production“.
