EXCLUSIVE – The founder and owner of the NRJ group returns for the first time to Arcom’s decision not to reallocate a DTT frequency to it in 2025.

The news came like a hammer, a few minutes before it was made official in a press release. On July 24, late in the morning, the founder of the NRJ group, Jean-Paul Baudecroux, hung up his phone. Its channel NRJ12, like its competitor C8, was not selected by Arcom for the reallocation of DTT frequencies in 2025. The industrialist is stunned. « I was stunned, very shocked and saddened for the teams, in particular those of the channel and the group’s television division, he reacts. We couldn’t have expected it. This decision is as serious and incomprehensible as it is unfair. »

Even today, the owner of the NRJ group remains perplexed. “ We still do not know what we are accused of, despite our requests as to the motivations for this decision. » Some have analyzed it as “collateral damage”.
