these statements will delight fans of the series

The series Sherlock, this excellent adaptation of the literary work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, has a large number of fans around the world, and recent statements should delight fans of the most famous detective in English literature.

“Elementary my dear Watson”

Started in 2010, this dramatic series of police investigations brings the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion Dr. John Watson to the present day. Where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels took place in the Victorian era during the second half of the 19th century, the series takes place in modern-day London with the problems and technologies of our time. Thanks to the writing talent of Steven Moffat – showrunner of the famous science fiction series Doctor Who for years – but also a truly remarkable performance from the actors (Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and Martin Freeman in the role of Dr Watson, to name but a few), the series Sherlock offers us a modern and no less subtle and fair version of the adventures of the resident of 221b Baker Street.

If the wait between each new season lengthened over time until the fourth season in 2017, that is to say 7 years after the start of the show, the future of the series has always been uncertain and if a season five has been mentioned on numerous occasions, it has still not received up-to-date coverage in our television sets. However, recent statements could well speed things up. Indeed, during the recent Amazon Prime Video Trailblazers event organized in London, the producer of the series Sue Vertue gave an interview to our colleagues from Deadline and spoke about the future of Sherlock :

We love this series and there is a future for it. A day. Maybe. If everyone is up for it.

I still have the sets stored somewhere, but to be honest with you, they’re probably rotting. It’s just a matter of bringing everyone together and making the actors want to come back.

The producer therefore seems totally delighted at the idea of resuming Sherlock and this could well speed up the resumption of this fabulous series. The main problem today being the schedule of the main actors, it remains to be seen whether a phone call from Sue Vertue could decide them to come back.

Tell us in the comments section if you think the series Sherlock will return soon or if we will have to wait and don’t miss to discover what becomes of the other adaptation of the adventures of the London detective.

Passionate about fantasy and sci-fi since a young age, I love these genres in books, films, series, RPGs… As long as a scenario holds up and the story transports me, I am a happy man.
