According to a note sent to “EnQuête”, the Senegalese head of state will respond to the invitation of his counterpart, President Racep Tayyip Erdogan and will be in Turkey on October 31. “ This visit was the subject of discussions during the third session of political consultations between the two countries. The delegations met at the headquarters of the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs in Dakar », specifies said note.

In recent years, relations between Dakar and Ankara have strengthened considerably, under the leadership of President Erdogan and former Senegalese President Macky Sall.

One of the symbols of this fruitful bilateral cooperation is the rapid development of the Turkish company Summa, which played a key role in the construction of numerous public infrastructures in Diamniadio, the new Senegalese city. Alongside Limak, another Turkish company, Summa had also obtained, under the previous regime, the management of the Blaise Diagne international airport in Diass.

However, since the new government came to power, some Turkish companies, including Summa, have faced difficulties, particularly with the tax administration. The company received a tax adjustment of more than 20 billion CFA francs, which opened a legal standoff.

The latest news was that an amicable solution appeared to be under negotiation. It is obvious that President Erdogan will do everything possible to defend the interests of his nationals established in Senegal, according to “EnQuête”.
