April, a 13-year-old schoolgirl, qualified for the final of the show, which takes place this Saturday evening. She stood out for her talent, but also for her maturity and sensitivity.

Did you expect to go this far in the adventure?

April. No way. My competitors in Patrick Fiori’s team – Charlie, Lizzie and Célia – all did incredible performances. At every step, I told myself that I wasn’t going to make it. I couldn’t believe it. So I gave myself on stage as if it were the last time. It’s a bit my way of enjoying myself. But it’s mainly because I don’t have much confidence in myself. In any case, during the final, I had a lot of fun, and there were also a lot of emotions.

Last Saturday, you performed Hoshi’s song “And Even After I Will Love You”. Why this choice?

I have the habit of clinging quickly to people, sharing a lot, giving everything at once. But actually, what I would like is to receive the same thing. I also want to talk about my hypersensitivity, to show it during the show. So that if people feel like this, they know they are not alone.

You started singing at the age of 7. How did it happen?

I had no idea I could sing well. One day, a gentleman came to my primary school to make us record a record. He was the one who told my family that I had a beautiful voice. So my mother signed me up for singing lessons. At first I didn’t like it at all. But I continued and little by little, I loved it. I don’t know how to explain it, but I find it easier to say what you feel by singing rather than talking. On stage, we can be whoever we want, and above all who we really are. There is no blocking.

In my family, no one is into music, but they are very supportive. I think of my aunt who cuts out all the articles that talk about me, I want to thank her.

What are the reactions in your college to your adventure?

I receive a lot of support from students and my teachers. I am part of a class with flexible hours to practice music, in partnership with the conservatory in my city. They are all behind me. But also the mayor of my village, the residents, etc.

And how are you feeling as the grand finale approaches?

The closer it gets, the more stressed I am, because it’s completely crazy. But I’m very excited and above all I can’t wait. I work and listen a lot to the songs I’m going to sing. I also work on interpretation.

What do you think of your finalist competitors Coline, Louis and Tim?

Things are going really well between us, they are very nice. From the start, I found them very strong. We each have a different personality, but the four of us still got along very well.

You said in The Dispatch a few weeks ago, that The Voice Kids “was like a dream” for you. Now that the show is coming to an end, what is your next dream?

I would really like to do Eurovision. Representing , as a child, is huge. For the rest, I know that The Voice Kids can give me opportunities. I’m going to do concerts thanks to Cyril Monge’s association. But also for the association “Tous avec Noé”, to support this child suffering from a genetic disease near .
