France’s UEFA index is doing well at the start of the European season. The French clubs involved in the European Cup consolidated their 5th place at the end of the 2e daytime.
More points gleaned than in 1re daytime
With the demonstration of Brest in Salzburg (4-0), the feat of Lille against Real Madrid (1-0) in addition to the draw of AS Monaco on the lawn of Dinamo Zagreb (2-2) in the League of champions and the success of OL at Glasgow Rangers (4-1) in the Europa League, France gleaned 3,429 points in the space of three days. This is more than when the European competitions opened under their new single pool format, mid-September, with 2785 points. Only the routs of PSG at Arsenal (2-0) in C1 and Nice at Lazio Rome (4-1) in C2 did not carry points.

France now has 61,379 points in 5th place in the European body’s ranking, ahead of the Netherlands (56,566 points, including 2,000 in the 2e day) and Portugal (53,016, including 2,400 during the 2e daytime).
