Orange prices showed distinct trends in Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal during the months of October to February of the current campaign (2024/2025) compared to the previous campaign (2023/2024 ). In Spain, prices for the 2024/2025 campaign (red line) started to fall in October, to €88/100 kg, compared to €95/100 kg during the previous campaign (green line). Prices fell steadily over the winter months, reaching €85/100 kg in November and falling to €76/100 kg in December. This suggests a more marked drop for the current season.
In Greece, a significant decline is evident between the two seasons. Prices for October 2024/2025 started at €74/100 kg, significantly lower than the €122/100 kg for 2023/2024. This downward trend intensified in November, where prices reached €61/100 kg, compared to €104/100 kg the previous year. In December, the decline continued, with the 2024/2025 season recording €52/100 kg compared to €57/100 kg the previous season, indicating a converging trend in the lower price range.
At the same time, Italy has seen a steady rise. November prices for the 2024/2025 campaign reached €144/100 kg, slightly exceeding the previous year’s €132/100 kg. Prices then fell slightly in December, maintaining relatively higher values of €142/100 kg for the current season, compared to €135/100 kg last year. Italy is showing greater resilience, with prices for 2024/2025 still higher than the previous year.
