Xbox Developer Direct: announcements recap

Tonight at 7 p.m. (French time), Microsoft is inaugurating its year 2025 with his first conferencea new episode of the Xbox Developers Direct that the American firm has gotten into the habit of organizing every year in January since 2023.

As always, Xbox will highlight several of its studios with their various games in preparation and coming this year. Generally, every year, we are treated to a big surprise announcement. In 2023, this announcement was for Hi-Fi Rushand last year for Visions of Mana. What will be the surprise game of 2025 ? For the moment, two theories and rumors which seem the most credible evoke the announcement of a Remake of The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivionor else, the announcement of the return of a very big cult Japanese license.

DOOM : The Dark Ages : Delve into the Doom Slayer’s past with DOOM: The Dark Ages, developed by legendary studio id Software. This prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal reveals the epic, cinematic origins of the Doom Slayer and his insatiable rage. In this third installment of the modern saga, take on the role of the Doom Slayer and fight the forces of Hell in a dark and brutal medieval war, never seen before.
South of Midnight : The creators of Contrast and We Happy Few, Compulsion Games, will reveal more about South of Midnight, a third-person adventure game set in the haunting landscapes of the American South. You will play Hazel, a heroine immersed in a quest that combines family mysteries and fantastical creatures inspired by Southern folklore.
Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 : Head to Montpellier to discover Sandfall Interactive, a French studio which will make its debut with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The developers will share their vision and the manufacturing secrets behind this title.
