A story inspired by the personal life of director Solveig Anspach

“I wanted to work with Agneswith whom I had started to think about a screenplay, when she suggested that I read the project that she had undertaken to write with Solveig : he told the love story that the mother of Solveig had lived late in life with a doctor much younger than her. This story had shocked Solveigto the point that it was unimaginable for him not to make a film about it”remembers the director.

“Two days before his death, Solveig asked to Agnes to make him the promise that this project will see the light of day, and that it will be carried out by a woman”continues Carine Tardieu. In the end, The young lovers has indeed seen the light of day, achieving an honorable score in theaters, with nearly 395 000 entrées.
