YMCA Gard Pont d'Avignon and France Travail, specific partners in favor of the integration of young people into the professional environment. This is the culmination of the signing of a “local cooperation agreement”, validated on Wednesday January 15 in the premises of the international center for educational, cultural and sporting stays. Here, the association hosts young people from the region, from Europe and soon from all over the world with the arrival of Americans soon. Pascale Bories is delighted with the signing of this cooperation between two essential organizations: “France Travail is a very important partner for us, anchored in the Avignon region. The unemployment rate in the municipality is well below regional and national averages. However, there are always people looking for jobs. This partnership is essential for the economy of our territories. Thank you for building here »welcomes the mayor of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.
“Provide the opportunities young people need to succeed”
Radia Barbach also wanted to welcome this commitment dedicated to young guards and elsewhere: “Today, the word I will choose is together. We are marking an important moment in our common mission: providing the opportunities young people need to succeed. Being here involves us. It’s a useful partnership. YMCA shares our values, recognized for its dedication and support it provides to young people. Our partnership will be based on three main axes: mobility, employment and digital”detailed the director of the France Travail agency in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.

4,000 young people from all over the world welcomed per year
“We are all committed to young people, to supporting them on their life journey. The idea is to collaborate and so that the young person can flourish in their life. Each year, our international stay center opens its doors to 4,000 young people throughout the year who come from the four corners of the world, such as Germany, Italy and other sectors. We welcome them within the framework of solidarity tourism, how we can discover the city of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, how they can integrate and have access to this culture. We are about inclusion and living together, how we accept the differences of others and how we share our culture”develops Lætitia Gonzalez, president of YMCA Gard Pont d’Avignon. 50 volunteers and employees work alongside them on a daily basis.
“When I arrived, I was surprised by the richness of this heritage in terms of heritage and culture. I share with the whole team a desire to be anchored in the territory and to participate in actions together. We are lucky to have this international dimension, which will allow us to put young people from here in perspective with young people from elsewhere and together to inspire each other and meet each other. Count on us to work hard in favor of the region and young people”underlined Antoine Maire, director of YMCA Gard Pont d’Avignon.
First success to note: during a solidarity football match, 25 players out of 33 registered found employment or training at the end.
