“I have more than a meter of water in my garage. » This is the sad spectacle discovered this Thursday, at dawn, by Jacques Larcher, mayor of Grandvillers. The department is this Thursday morning placed on orange alert for floods by MétéoFrance. On yellow alert for snow and ice.

“The water came down from the fields and from the Dekester company, the nurseryman, located above and which was also affected,” explains the elected official of the commune in the north-west of Oise, the only sector impacted for the moment by bad weather. It happened at night, the whole neighborhood was affected. I haven’t yet had time to look at the damage elsewhere than at home. »

In total, around forty homes would be affected by this flood, according to the Oise Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 60). Firefighters deployed significant pumping resources to help residents. This operation should last at least all day. During the night, they also carried out the medical evacuation of two people.

Since Wednesday afternoon and again this Thursday morning, snow has fallen in abundance, particularly in the northwest of the department. In total, firefighters carried out 38 interventions, mainly concentrated in this sector. Grandvilliers is in fact not the only town affected by these bad weather.

In Songeons, the road to was flooded and became impassable. The boarding school of the Family and Rural House (MFR) was also affected, more indirectly, with the temporary sheltering of 57 children and two educators. When contacted, a teacher at the establishment nevertheless reported that “all the students are doing well” and that classes were able to resume normally this Thursday.

In Crèvecœur-le-Grand, there was a water flow problem affecting the town’s new college. “The college management noticed a significant rise in water levels shortly before the students arrived,” says Aymeric Bourleau, mayor of the town. The parking lot and forecourt were saturated with water. The intervention of the firefighters made it possible to accelerate the flow of water and the students were able to be received under normal conditions. At 11 a.m., the problem was resolved and only one technical room was impacted. »
