Emergency services were called early in the evening, at 7:49 p.m. The fire kept firefighters busy all night. “At the height of the intervention, 45 firefighters were mobilized“, indicates this morning SDIS 76.

If the fire is brought under control, the straw continues to burn. The blaze could still “continue for a while” according to the professionals involved. This is why a small team of around fifteen firefighters remains on site to take care of the “drowning of residual piles of straw“.

The fire caused no casualties but the hangar was completely destroyed. It housed straw and linen. Fairly isolated from neighboring homes, the fire did not spread beyond the agricultural building. A gendarmerie investigation will be opened to determine the causes of the incident.
