When the bean becomes gold
From January 1 to 31, 202543 bakeries across France are participating in this exceptional initiative, where gold replaces the traditional porcelain bean. With each purchase of a galette des rois, customers have a chance to leave with a gold bar worth around €445.
In Nantes, it’s at the Feydeau bakery that it’s happening! The ingot involved measures 23.3mm long by 14mm wide and weighs 5 grams. A little piece of gold that could transform a simple bite of pancake into an unforgettable experience.
How to participate in the draw?
To try your luck, you must scan a QR code printed on the cake bag or on a flyer provided by the bakery. You can also fill out a registration form on the flyer and drop it off at one of the Comptoir National de l’Or agencies.
Once your registration has been validated, all you have to do is cross your fingers for the draw which will designate one winner per point of sale.
Whether you are a fan of frangipane, brioche pancakes or simply tempted by the prospect of winning gold, this Epiphany 2025 is one more reason to enjoy a pancake.
