Sports betting: the Senators-Red Wings match to watch

It’s time to share with you my three NHL picks for Tuesday, January 7!

CHOICE #1: Moneyline Senators (at Red Wings)

This game is supported by a betting system called “The Scoring Drought“. Let me explain its rules to you:

Bet on the team on the road if its moneyline is greater than 1.80 in decimal odds and if it has just suffered two defeats in which it scored three goals or less in each match.

So let’s take a look at Ottawa’s recent schedule. They lost their last two matches by scoring zero and two goals respectively. The criterion of moneyline is also fulfilled, so the strategy “The Scoring Drought» suggests supporting the Senators tonight.

Here is an important caveat to this betting angle, however. Over the past five seasons, it has generated a terrible -6.2% ROI.

However, if you only focus on games whose moneyline was 2.05 or less, we achieved a +13.1% ROI over that same five-year period.

In short, this betting system generates good results by adding a restriction that you only bet on small favorites and small outsiders. That’s the case here, so I’m going to give it a try with Ottawa!

CHOIX #2 : Penguins (vs Blue Jackets)

In this case, Pittsburgh is supported by the betting strategy “The Hot Scorers» which looks like this:

Bet AGAINST the road team if they have just won a three-game series in which they scored at least four goals in each of their games.

If you pay attention to the Blue Jackets, they have scored six, four and four goals in their last three games. Since Columbus is the visiting club today, we have to take the Penguins.

Again, this system has proven to be much more effective when you focus only on the favorites or small outsidersso be aware of this if you intend to use this system in the future.

Earlier this year, the Jackets destroyed the Pens 6-2, while outshooting 39-23. I’m sure the Penguins remember that game well and will be looking for revenge.

PICK #3: Brent Burns (Caroline) under 2.5 shots on goal

I know the odds aren’t very high, which isn’t as exciting as when you face a outsider at juicy odds. But, according to my numbers, this is a solid bet with a good expected return on investment.

Let’s assume you would have made this bet in each of Burns’ 40 games this season. Currently, you own a spectacular record of 28-12.

Additionally, Burns faces Tampa Bay, a slightly better-than-average team at preventing penalties. In fact, they occupy number 14e place in terms of shots allowed per match.

So, for me, this is a very high confidence game in today’s games list, which is why it made it into my daily premium betting picks featured on MJPicks.com.

Thanks for reading my daily picks, I appreciate it!
