An Algerian influencer was arrested and taken into custody by the Montpellier police on Sunday January 5, following the report of a video shared on the social network Tik Tok in which the man allegedly incited hatred and made comments anti-Semites, according to the Journal du Dimanche.
“Doualemn”, real name Ami Boualem, has nearly 138,000 subscribers on the social network. In a video posted on December 31, the man appears to call for the murder of a person. Addressing the “Algerians”, he declared: “Catch this individual and kill him. Kill him because Cohen shared his video.”
Originally, explains France 3 Occitanie, it was the Algerian activist who took refuge in France Chawki Benzehra, who specialized on his social networks in denouncing hate speech shared by Algerian influencers, who reported the video.

Chawki Benzehra clarified that this type of statement, which Ami Boualem would not be the only one to make publicly, is part of a context of “rampant anti-Semitism” in Algeria. “This individual who makes these remarks and delights in the description of acts of torture records his videos in the city center of Montpellier,” he said.
On January 4, the mayor of Montpellier, Michaël Delafosse, declared that “incitement to hatred is an offense, as such, this video leaves no doubt, I am making a report under article 40 of the Penal Code with the judicial authority of Montpellier”.
The same day, the prefect of Hérault declared on his X account: “I became aware of this video at the end of the morning. She is intolerable. I immediately contacted the public prosecutor on the basis of article 40 so that legal action could be taken regarding these comments. »
The next day on . Don’t let anything pass. »
