Luke Littler leads a star-studded Premier League 2025 line-up that also includes Luke Humphries and Michael Van Gerwen.

Littler won the competition after a long campaign last year in his first year, beating Luke Humphries in the final to pocket the £275,000 prize.

He will defend that crown in 2025 for an extravagant 17 weeks, as the road to the play-offs begins at London’s O2 Arena on May 29.

‘The Nuke’ will look to defend the PDC Order of Merit prize money, heading into the competition as World Champion following his victory over Michael Van Gerwen in last week’s final.

World No. 1 Luke Humphries will join Littler on this year’s roster, who will look to go one better than 2024 and dethrone Littler.

“Cool Hand” suffered a surprise exit at the World Championship against Peter Wright, but will hope to regain his form in the competition.

Darts icon Van Gerwen is seeded third and joins the line-up alongside recent World Finals foe Littler.

How does the Darts Premier League work?

Eight of the world’s best players compete over 17 nights, starting in February and ending with a huge finals night in May.
Each of the players meets each week from 1 to 7, then again in weeks 9 to 15, with weeks 8 and 16 drawn based on league standings.
The points system is explained here:

  • Winner of the evening: 5 points
  • Finalists: 3 points
  • Losing semi-finalists: 2 points

After week 16, the top four in the standings will play the semi-finals and final at the O2 Arena in London.
First faces fourth and second faces third in the best-of-19 semi-finals before a best-of-21 final.

Former world champion Rob Cross makes the top four, with all of these players qualifying due to their position at the top of the PDC Order of Merit.

Leading the wildcard picks, fan favorite Stephen Bunting makes his second appearance in the competition, his first since finishing 8th in 2015.

Bunting reached the semi-finals of the World Championship losing to Littler, but became a celebrity thanks to the support of his army “Bunting Mental”.

Gerwyn Price, 2023 vice-champion, returns after a successful run to the quarter-finals of the last World Championship.

It’s been a tough year for “Ice Man”, who took a break from the sport, but remains a leading figure on the PDC tour and a true entertainer.

Chris Dobey makes his second appearance in the competition for the first time since 2023, with ‘Hollywood’ earning his place after a fantastic year.

And to finally conclude the line-up, the very popular Nathan Aspinall makes the difference.

“The Asp” just returned to the quarter-finals himself and beat many big names.

Peter Wright is absent after a difficult year, despite a decent run at the World Championship, including the elimination of Luke Humphries.

Michael Smith fell to 16th on the PDC Order of Merit and dropped out of the lineup after being seriously out of shape.

Gary Anderson, a former double winner of the competition in 2011 and 2013, was also left out.

This is an extremely exciting line-up that will continue to drive the growing excitement and buzz around the sport.
