How much money is in the 2025 children’s lottery

The Children’s Lottery draw, also known as the Twelfth Day draw, will distribute a total of 770 million euros in prize money. This is the second largest after the extraordinary Christmas Lottery draw, even if it distributes more prizes than that of December 22.

The draw has 50 sets of 100,000 notes each.

These are the children’s lottery prizes

The main prizes of the Lotería del Niño are three:

  • First prize: The first prize of the Lotería del Niño is 2,000,000 euros for the series, 200,000 euros for the tenth.
  • Second prize: The second prize will be endowed with 750,000 euros per series, which will distribute 75,000 euros per tenth.
  • Third prize: With the third prize of the Lotería del Niño, 250,000 euros are distributed to the series, or 25,000 euros per tenth played.
  • The Children’s Lottery draw also two quarters and eight fifths. The numbers before and after the first prize are awarded at 12,000 euros per series and those before and after the second at 6,100. The numbers matching the first three digits with the three largest prizes win 1,000 euros per series. If the last three numbers match the first two prizes, they also receive 1,000 euros per series.

The money the Treasury takes

As with every draw, the tax administration participates in the winnings. More precisely, like the Christmas lottery, 20% of the portion that exceeds 40,000 euros must be taxedonly the first two prizes are therefore subject to this tribute.

In a practical case of the Children’s Raffle itself, the first prize is 200,000 euros for the tenth. In this case the first 40,000 euros are exempt, so the 20% would apply to 160,000 euros and The Treasury would keep 32,000 euros. Thus, the lucky winner would win 168,000 euros.

In the second prize, which gives 75,000 euros to the tenth, the Treasury would take 7,000 euros and the lucky one 68,000 euros. On the other hand, the third prize would not be affected by the tax authorities, since it awards 25,000 euros and these are exempt.
