In an interview for Times Radio, Errol Musk, Elon's father, admitted that his son, owner among others of the social network X, would be interested in buying the Liverpool club.

Owner of the social network X or the automobile brand Tesla, Elon Musk could land in football. During an interview, his father Errol Musk confirmed that the multi-billionaire had expressed interest in buying Liverpool, owned by Fenway Sports Group. “I can’t comment on that. They will increase the price,” Errol Musk first told Times Radio, remaining evasive on possible concrete negotiations. “He would love to, of course. Everyone would want it, me too.”

Family ties in Liverpool

During the interview, Errol Musk revealed that his family has ties to the Merseyside town. “His grandmother was born in Liverpool, we had family in Liverpool, and we were lucky enough to know a lot about the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family members. So we are committed to Liverpool, you know.”

Elon Musk also admitted to having been very close to his grandmother, born in 1923 and died in 2011, “an important part” of his childhood. “She was very strict, but also kind and I could always count on her. She grew up very poor in England during the Great Depression, before being bombed in World War II. To earn money for food, she cleaned houses, which left me with a deep respect for those who do it,” he wrote on X.

Owner of the Liverpool club since 2010, the company Fenway Sports Groupe announced an interest in buying the Girondins de a few months ago. Operation which ultimately came to nothing.
