The Brutalist and Emilia Perez took home honors at the 82nd Golden Globes in Los Angeles.
In the drama category, The Brutalist won against the National Society of Film Critics’ Conclave and Nickel Boys, while Emilia Perez edged out fan favorite Wicked in the musical and comedies.
In the dramatic performance categories, Adrien Brody won another award for The Brutalist, Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here, while Demi Moore distinguished herself in the best actress in a musical or comedy category. “I’ve been doing this for 45 years and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actress,” she said of her win for The Substance.
Sebastian Stan won the male version of the same award for the black comedy A Different Man.
On television, it was Shogun who led the way. Hiroyuki Sanada won best male actor, and his co-stars Tadanobu Asano and Anna Sawai were also recognized for their supporting roles.
The awards for comedies and musicals were won by Hacks, which received the award for best television series. Jeremy Allen White continued his momentum by winning Best Male Actor in a Comedy or Musical Film for The Bear.
The Golden Globes were hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser – the first woman to do so solo – at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 5 (25).
