‘Emilia Pérez’ by Jacques Audiard wins 4 Golden Globes

Emilia Perezthe musical and feminist odyssey of Jacques Audiard, won 4 Golden Globes this Sunday, January 5 in Beverly Hills: Best comedy, best foreign language film, best supporting actress for Zoé Saldaña and the award for Best original song (“El Mal”) for Camille and Clément Ducol.

The film competed for ten Golden Globes – awards given each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and which are often a precursor to the Oscars – with a whopping total of 10 nominations: best musical film, best direction, best actress ( Karla Sofia Gascon), best supporting actress (Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana), best screenplay, best foreign language film, best music, and best song (the pieces The Evil et My Way).

Jacques Audiard dedicated his Globe for best international film “to all those who feel worried today, as an exhortation to keep their heads held high, to continue to fight and hope for better days.”

French co-production Flow (Sacrebleu Productions) won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film.

Please note that The Substancethe film by French director Coralie Fargeat, won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her interpreter Demi Moore.

Emilia Pérez, who had already won two awards at the Film Festival and five at the 37th European Film Awards, is distributed largely internationally by Netflix, and is currently pre-selected in five categories at the 2025 Oscars, including that of Best international film. The final selections will be announced on January 17.
