Recently hospitalized, Bill Clinton worried his relatives and admirers. But his radiant presence at a ceremony at the White House allays fears.
Former United States President Bill Clinton made a notable appearance at the White House during the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony. This significant moment comes just a few weeks after a hospitalization which caused great concern. Admitted in December to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington for tests after a fever, President Clinton, aged 78, quickly reassured about his state of health. According to a member of his entourage, Angel Ureña, the former head of state was “very happy with the care he is receiving”. Despite a complex medical history, this public appearance, with a smile, demonstrated that he had lost none of his energy.
During the ceremony, Bill Clinton witnessed a moment of emotion and pride as his wife, Hillary Clinton, received the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was among the many personalities honored by President Joe Biden, alongside emblematic figures such as actor Michael J. Fox and Jane Goodall. Bill Clinton appeared smiling and clearly in good health. This image contrasts with the concerns raised by his hospitalization.

A man marked by health, but always present
Since leaving the White House in 2001, Bill Clinton has gone through several medical ordeals. In 2004, he underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery. In 2010, he had surgery again, this time to insert two stents into a coronary artery. Most recently, in 2021, he spent six days in the hospital due to a severe urological infection. Despite these numerous incidents, the former president never strayed from the public eye. His recent presence at the White House ceremony symbolizes his commitment to staying active.
