LOSC – FC Nantes: An “ambitious”, “conquering”, “risk-taking” team desired by Bruno Genesio

Aware that FC will play with a low block against LOSC, Bruno Genesio has chosen to concentrate above all on his game, which he thinks is capable of surpassing any adversity.

LOSC welcomes FC Nantes this Saturday, at 7 p.m., as part of the sixteenth day of Ligue 1 McDonald’s. In difficulty this season, fighting to maintain its position, the Nantes team has been evolving for several weeks in a system with a solid defensive base with five rough defenders. However, Bruno Genesio refuses to concentrate on possible certainties in the opposing camp, and prefers to concentrate on those which relate to his own group: “We don’t really know in what system they will evolve. If we rely on the last matches, we tend to say that they will be five behind. But as I often say, we concentrate 80% on our game, regardless of the opponent and without offending anyone.

I remain convinced that working on our strengths and areas for improvement remains the most important. We are also used to facing low blocks with grouped teams playing against each other. We expect all the possibilities for tomorrow, I don’t know what Antoine (Kombouaré) has prepared for us. He has so much experience that we can expect different things, including a four-man defense. This is why I prefer to concentrate on our strengths, even if we take the adversary into account”declared the LOSC coach this Friday at a press conference.

FC Nantes is LOSC’s first opponent in 2025, a year in which ’s ambitions do not change one iota: “They are the same, the objectives have been clear and defined since the start of the seasonassured Bruno Genesio at a press conference this Friday. There are the objectives and the way in which we achieve them. What matters to me today is above all this point: how can I put the players in the best possible position tactically and mentally to achieve these objectives. We only played 15 league matches. What we have done is very good, but we can always do better. We must continue on what drives us, on the game we want to put in place and what we want to do”he said with a certain conviction.

This is how Bruno Genesio will always prioritize an offensive game, to the detriment of a defense which sometimes suffers: “It’s also because I think we accept a certain offensive imbalance that we only kept two clean sheets (out of 7 played at home in Ligue 1). I like my team to be strong, it’s a guarantee of success. But what matters to me is above all winning matches with ambition in our game. That’s what I want to see from my team. It’s true that, sometimes, it can frustrate us, but I like to see my team ambitious, conquering, taking risks. And inevitably, this can create imbalances which expose us a little more at home than outside”admitted the technician, aware that his team is not perfect at all levels.
